Earrings – Trial I

Will update the pattern & yarn later.

Baby/Kid – Muffler/Cap

Made for another colleagues daughter. I loved it so much that, I didn’t really want to give it away. My favorite colour too.Kid Cap-Muffler (4)

Yarn from Pradhan Store. Baby Wool. Quite soft.

Button from Itsy Bitsy, MG Road Bangalore.

Hard disk cover

I got a new 1 TB hard disk(Seagate Backup plus). So I thought of making a cover for it. Inspiration struck when I saw a bubble wrap. Why not make a cove which imitates that. It will protect the hard disk from sudden falls too (at least I hope it will) . Any way it won’t slip from my hand that much I am sure. The colour is lighter than how it is in the photograph.

The pattern is quite simple. Make a foundation chain to the approximate width of the hard disk. Then work in round with sc for a row. Then start of with popcorn stitch.

Hard - disk case 2For the first row of popcorn stitch I used –>  http://www.allfreecrochet.com/Tutorials/How-to-Crochet-a-Popcorn-Stitch

I followed that row off with a row of dc and then alternated with popcorn stitch with hdc substituted for the sc given in the pattern from the link above.

The yarn is a Lilac shade from Laura Knitting cotton which I bought from http://www.ponycraftstore.com/

Sherlocked ;)

I recently saw the Sherlock series…and Benedict Cumberbatch inspired me to make this for a friend of mine 🙂

I was afraid it won’t be good…. But it turned out well. I altered the pattern a bit to make Sherlock more tall. I made the legs longer and more defined. I also added glove like thing. Though the colour of it doesn’t suit him.

The pattern is taken from http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2012/232/0/0/crocheted_sherlock_pattern_by_retsnimel-d4wvvqb.pdf

Now this is how it was in the end 🙂

A star in the sky

But those are not the stars I am going to talk about here.

The star is from here –> http://web.archive.org/web/20080524231152/http://www.froginakilt.com/blog/

I tried this but it didn’t come properly with my yarn and hook

Picot stitch can be found here –> http://www.crochetcabana.com/stitches/stitches-picot.htm

And finally this is the STAR

ok I know it is in a very awful colour..but hey It looked good with that shade of red.. and it was what my cousin wanted.

( I am not sure of the address.. and phone numbers I got that from a website not their own website though)

I found Rope shorts (silk), No:10 crochet thread from anchor, knitting needles, crochet hooks, various acrylic yarn of different colours etc.

The rope short(silks) is just plain soft rope like thing.. But the colours are superb. I got violet and orange and I made a mobile phone cover sort of thing from it. It is heavy once finished but quite sturdy.

I also got a knitting needle set whose tips can be protected while travelling. Also you can make larger knitting project with it I think.
